I am Back!!! Sort of ...

Hello lovely ladies!!
I miss you all so much and I hope you are all doing well.  I have not posted on this blog in WAY too long - I miss style blogging SO MUCH.  I have decided to start adding some style posts to The House That Ag Built.  That way I don't feel obligated to do a 'what I wore post' every day - I want some variety!  I want to do an outfit post because I love interacting with all of you, not because I feel obligated to take a picture of my outfit.

I put together 5ish outfits that would be perfect to wear for an observation.  Here is the post if you want to see it.  I am not allowing comments on this post, but would love for you to hop over to the new blog and let me know if you would like to see more posts like this!  I am out of practice posing in front of a camera, so please bare with me as I get used to it again.

Thanks for your support and I hope you will join me at The House That Ag Built!

Farm Day in San Francisco

Top: Ross
Cardigan: Nordstrom's Rack
Scarf: DD's Discount
Black Jeans: Target
Flats: Ross

Close -up of the button.

This is what I wore to Farm Day (the day after the conference) in San Francisco.  I had no idea what to expect.  I knew I was going to be in a classroom helping my sister, so I needed to dress up a bit.  But, I didn't know what I would be doing - I could have had to help move livestock or plant seeds or anything since I was an extra person at our site.  So, that meant no blazer.  I bought these black jeans at Target to wear on our field trip (two days before this) and I LOVE them!!  I don't normally like jeans, but these are great.  They look nice and are very comfortable.  I added the cardigan for some color and the scarf for some more warmth and color - the combo of green and purple is a favorite of mine.  Some flats for running around the city since I had no idea what the parking situation was going to be and for running aroudn the school if needed and there you have it!  I really like this outfit!

Farm Day was amazing - you can read about it here!  We had so much fun and I am glad that I tagged along for it!

Conference Outfit

Top: Gap
Tank: TJ Max
Blazer: Kohl's
Necklace: thrifted
Pearl earrings: gifted
Jeans: Calvin Klein via Ross
Flats: Born via Nordstrom's Rack

This is what I wore to the Ag in the Classroom Conference (read about it here).  The dress code was business casual and we were told to wear comfortable shoes for the hour long tour of Cow Palace.  Adding a blazer to jeans is the perfect way to dress up a casual look in my book!  And comfortable shoes that I could walk around for days in that just happen to be my favorite color were perfect too!

What is your go to business casual look?

Love/hate outfit

Top: Ross
Tank: TJ Maxx
Slacks: Express (thrifted and shortened)
Flats: Payless

This outfit feels very casual to me.  I wore it because we were having a lock down drill so I knew I would have to be crawling around the floor and I wanted something I would be comfy in crwling on the floor making sure my kids were quiet.  It worked well!

I love/hate this top.  I love it because it has stripes and I love me some stripes.  I hate it because it has some rouching and makes my belly look preggers.  I love it because it is loose and roomy.  I hate it because it can be shape-less.  I could go on ... but I won't.  I want to pair this with a wide belt and a pencil skirt - I think that would work well.  What are you suggestions?

Picture Day

Picture day was last week, so this is a little late.  But, I did remember to take my picture before I left so I though I would post it anyway.

cardigan: Talbot (I LOVE this cardigan)
Top: Ross
Pencil skirt: NY&Co.
Heels: thrifted

I have not been motivate to take outfit pictures or even look at style blogs.  But, I do miss you all!!  What have you been wearing?  Are you excited for Fall?

I have spirit . . . yes I do!

Mustard T-shirt: Marshall's
Tank: Marshall's
Denim pencil skirt: K-Mart (for $2!)
Flats: Ross

Our school does not have much any spirit so a few teachers decided to pick colors and declare Fridays school spirit day.  Our colors are not blue and yellow so every Friday I will be trying to remember to wear blue and yellow.  Yeah for school spirit!!

If you are a teacher I would love to hear about the school spirit at your school.  Have a great weekend all!!  And thanks for the ideas for the striped shirt!  You all rock!!

Stripes . . .

Top: Ross
Slacks: thrifted (and shortened)
Flats: Born via Nordstrom's Rack

I wore this yesterday and now that I am looking at the picture it makes me look quite short!  I think the combination of the long shirt and long wide capris is the reason.  Maybe next time I will try this top with a pencil skirt - I think it would look nice with jeans too!

How would you wear this shirt?

Getting into the Swing

I know this is a horrible picture but I need to get back into practice so it was this or nothing!
Top: Ross (LOVE this color)
Tank: Marshalls
Slacks: thrifted
Wedges: Aerosoles (via Ross)

Hello all!!  I sure have missed you!!  I am hoping that I will get back into the habit of taking pictures before work since it is the 3rd week of school already.  I wore this yesterday and I was very happy with this outfit.  I walked down the hall at least 15 times during the day (most of which was during our last recess as my class practiced the entire recess how to walk down the hall) and my feet were fine.

It is always tough to get back into the habit of doing something, so you will have to be patient with me!

I would love for you to give me updates . . . what did I miss this summer in style blogland?

Catch up and a Blogger Meet-up

Dress: Ross
Cardigan: Loft (thrifted)
Flats: Walmart

Hello lovely ladies!!  I have not posted in a while and by a while I mean way too long.  I am sorry but life is really getting in the way right now.  My grandpa is sick - and by sick I mean he has cancer and is dying.  He is a really great man and it sucks!  He is 88 so we knew he wouldn't be around forever but he was very healthy his whole life and this has been so sudden and sad.

This is what I wore to a blogger meet-up two Thursdays ago.  It was nice to sit around a chat with them!

I am really low on words today - but I hope you all are having a fantastic summer!!  I know my original plan for the summer was to post regularly but it looks like that is not going to happen, so I will try to post as often as possible (by that I mean like once a week) but I may not post until school starts again depending on how life is going here.  I have a few outfits to post (including a white trash outfit - at least that is what the boyfriend called it) so I will try to get those up, but there are no guarantees.

Lunch with the Girls

Dress: Walmart
Belt: Ross
Cardigan: Loft
Flats: Walmart

On Wednesday I had lunch with "the girls" and it was so great to get to catch up with them!!  "The girls" are friends from college - we were in a cohort together and the six of us really clicked and hung out all the time.  Now that we are out of college and the credential program and into real life it is hard to find time to meet with them.  We are so busy during the school year that we only find time during the summer or over breaks to meet - which is sad.

Anyway, this is what I wore.  I LOVE this dress from Walmart!! I am so glad that I got it because I wear it all the time.

I only bought a few things in June but I will post my purchases - hopefully tomorrow!  Have a great day and I hope you are all doing well!!
